Dinner Party, a virtual reality experience premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, is an experiment in how VR can be used to tell narrative stories. Money Making Sense host Heather Kelly interviews Telexist founders Erik Donley and Sam Gezari, two of the creative minds behind the project, which was developed at the Sundance Institute's New Frontier Lab. Set in 1961, Dinner Party tells the story of Betty and Barney Hill, an interracial couple who seek hypnosis to recover memories of inexplicable experience. When the Hills listen to their recording at a dinner party, what they hear changes their lives forever. The VR component makes the experience immersive for the viewer.
