With a shortage of qualified employees, many companies are struggling to fill open positions.  But, one sector of the population is usually ignored.  Ex convicts and felons.  

Vice President of Human Resources for Utah Housing Corporation, Sterling Barker, has great tips for businesses looking to fill their ranks.  They could be eligible for tax breaks and some organizations will pay a portion of an employees salary if they came out of the prison system.

Sterling also gives excellent tips to ex-cons if they are looking for jobs.  How do you get past the application?  What questions should you ask before the interview?  And, when do you disclose you've been in jail, or do you?

The United States is losing billions of dollars each year by not collecting sales tax.  Tax attorney Steve Young of Holland and Hart explains why sales tax was originally instituted and why states need it.

Steve also talks about efforts to raise sales tax on services such as car repairs, health care and hair dressers.  If a state doesn't have enough money coming in from sales taxes, how do they pay for things they need to run it?

**Since this show was recorded, The Supreme Court ruled States have the right to collect sales tax from any business which ships items into their jurisdiction.  This overturns previous Court decisions which ruled taxing across state lines is unconstitutional.

Whether scrambled, fried, over easy, smothered in salsa or sprinkled in salt and doused with ketchup, your grocery store eggs could also contain a deadly bacteria.

Veterinary technician and backyard chicken enthusiast Heather Boyce tells host Heather Kelly why she believes government regulations may actually spread salmonella through egg cartons. Boyce says over time, raising chickens may save money over buying eggs from Walmart or Target.  And its illegal in Europe for farmers to do what the FDA requires US farms do with their eggs.

Human trafficking brings in $150 Billion dollar world-wide.  With 600,000 to 800,000 children and adults brought illegally to the United States each year

Heather Kelly interviews Founder and CEO of Operation Underground Railroad, Tim Ballard and actor Jim Caviezel, best know for "Passion of the Christ" and "The Count of Monte Cristo" about the documentary "Operation Toussaint."  The film shows the efforts of Ballard, O.U.R members and law-enforcement in Haiti trying to get child sex slaves out of their situation.

Mr. Caviezel is also slated to portray Tim Ballard's efforts to organize Operation Underground Railroad.  The film called 'Sound of Freedom' will begin filming on June 11, 2018 in Columbia.
